Leon GUY left today for El Paso where he will take up work as a foreign secretary for the YMCA. Mr. Guy will be stationed at Ft. Bliss during his training period and later probably will be sent to some European country where the war Y is operating. Mr. Guy said today that he expects to return home after the war is over and to continue to make Las Vegas his permanent residence. His mother, Mrs. Estelle Guy will remain here. Mr. Guy has been employed in the Bacharach store here for the past 11 years. He is an expert window dresser and advertising man and salesman. He said today he felt it his duty to be of service to his country and as the government recognizes the war YMCA as beneficial to the fighting forces he tendered it his services. Mr. Guy is a singer of unusual ability and he expects to have all the soldiers who come under his work "singing their heads off" during recreation hours. - typed by kbz

A copy of the El Paso Herald has a picture showing Leon GUY, hammer in hand, at work on a "Y" shelter, remodeled from an army mess shack. Leon is building secretary of the YMCA at El Paso and from what we know of him, the chips will fly. - typed by kbz
